We envision a community where no widow or widower feels alone or overwhelmed, and where they receive the support they need to thrive.
Supporting Spouses was born out of a deep personal connection to the struggles faced by widows and widowers. My father, who is no longer with us, was always eager to help those in need. His compassion and willingness to lend a hand to anyone who needed it left a lasting impression on me.
In recent years, I've witnessed the profound impact of losing a spouse on several close friends. Some of these losses were sudden and occurred at a young age, leaving their loved ones overwhelmed and struggling to cope with the practical aspects of daily life. Additionally, my mother is a widow, and she, along with many of her friends, has faced similar challenges.
These experiences highlighted the urgent need for support in areas that a spouse would typically handle, such as car repairs, dealing with contractors, paying bills, managing insurance, and providing financial stability. Recognizing this gap, I felt compelled to create a nonprofit organization dedicated to offering practical assistance and emotional support to widows and widowers.
